Barn Owl Lodge Reviews

Joanne
We had a lovely time staying in this great accommodation, it is in super condition and has everything to make your stay an enjoyable experience. The beds were very comfortable and the sofa amazingly comfy! It is located within a 10 minute walk to the beach and a short drive into Snettisham. We spoke to various members of the site team who were very friendly and happily passed the time of day with us. We chose this as a last minute getaway but are already planning a return visit!
Property was completely misrepresented when we booked and has since been changed. No one at Sykes is responding to me, worst company Ive ever dealt with, still trying to find out how to escalate. See below for a detailed list of the issues we encountered and AVOID AT ALL COSTS The property is described as a lodge, but in reality, it is a glamping pod a significant misrepresentation. The listing implied a private, detached property. In fact, we had only a very small, clearly defined section of a shared area photo attached. No oven was provided, despite us bringing food to cook. The kitchen was extremely limited, with just two hob rings wholly inadequate for a family of four. Only one pillow per person was supplied. Weve never stayed anywhere with such minimal provisions. The accommodation was very cramped for two adults and two teenagers. No mirrors in the bedrooms or bathroom aside from a small shaving mirror. The cost over 400 for three nights is excessive for glamping, especially considering the standard of the facilities. The dining area was a folding table with stackable chairs not a proper dining space. Kitchen fixtures were of poor quality and roughly finished. The site was noisy, busy, and far from the peaceful setting we expected. We would never knowingly book a campsite. No bedside lamps lights could only be turned off at the main switch. The WiFi did not work despite being advertised photo attached. There was no television this should be clearly stated, not left open to assumption. No place to hang wet towels. The shower had a high step approx. 12 inches, making it completely unsuitable for my elderly mother, who was unable to use it. A shower safety grab handle was detached and lying on the floor. The propertys postcode was misleading and did not reflect its actual location photo attached. No standard drinking glasses were available only wine glasses. No facilities for drying wetsuits or swimwear. Our pitch was located next to a very noisy childrens football area, with constant noise throughout the day. No welcome pack or information about onsite facilities we only discovered the shop as we were leaving.

This is a lovely new build so you couldn't fault the decor, furnishings utensils etc Beautifully presented with the essentials for your arrival. Bread, milk, tea, coffee, biscuits and prosecco chilled in the fridge. The bathroom had a small array of toiletries as well. From the listing I was not aware this was a Glamping cabin situated on caravan site. There is no TV which I should have noted from the listing and wi fi from the site is an additional cost. Only improvements would be some hooks on the back of the bathroom door and perhaps a roller blind on the front door for privacy as you can see directly into the lounge or any movement at night if you use the bathroom. Overall a great stay on a quiet site with plenty to do in the surrounding area.
