Moat Farm Cottage Reviews

Lovely well equipped cottage, beautifully presented and clean. With the 2 bathrooms, ideal for our relaxing Christmas weekend visit with friends to Thursford. It was a bitter cold afternoon, and with the 4pm check in, the cottage was freezing on arrival, which was a shame. It took a fair while to warm up, but once warm was ok. A welcome gift of fresh laid eggs and biscuits were appreciated.

Moat Farm Cottage is a sure fire hit, we can't imagine anyone being the slightest bit disappointed. The facilities, cleanliness and maintenance are 100. In fact, we thought the property was a relatively new build or at least recently refurbished it was so clean and in such good condition. The heating was superbly effective and coupled with the privacy, quiet and lack of light pollution meant the stay was incredibly relaxing. The locality is very rural and virtually flat which is ideal for cycling and walking although all tastes could be accommodated with pleasant towns, the coast, country parks, museums and stately homes all being within easy reach. All in all, fantastic. We would definitely recommend this property and if you were ever only going to hire one holiday cottage then it should be this one.
A lovely cottage with spacious accommodation. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment. A very peaceful location out in the countryside with just the sound of sheep in the field across the lane and only the occasional vehicle passing by. If you like solitude this is the place, yet only a 20 minute drive to the lovely town of Holt. We certainly hope to return.

Very well equipped cottage with everything provided. Very remote but ideal location to explore Norfolk. Very clean and tidy with nice furniture and facilities . Loved waking up to hear sheep and the distant sound of cockerels. As its self catering and a long way from shops, a slightly bigger fridgefreezer would be useful so a bigger shop could be done beforehand.
Moat Farm Cottage was an excellent base from which to explore Norfolk. The narrow roads were challenging but we got used to them! Super cottage, very well equipped in lovely surroundings. The welcome pack of fresh eggs, biscuits and milk was a nice touch. .
The best holiday cottage we've ever stayed in. Everything you need for your stay is provided. The beds are comfortable, the towels are fluffy, excellent shower and as it was a cold week the heating worked a treat. We liked the quiet countryside location. A chance to get away from it all. A real home from home.
The cottage is cozy and comfortable, in a peaceful location. It is spotless and wellmaintained, with everything you need for a pleasant stay, as it's fully equipped with all the essentials. The owners are very friendly and left us fresh eggs from the resident hens, which were a welcome treat. The cottage made a great base for exploring the area and we would definitely stay there again.

Arrived to a friendly welcome. The cottage had all you need and was pristine. Very comfortable stay. We did lose mum in a broom cupboard in the middle of the night once, when she was supposed to be going to the bathroom.
Great property. Very clean and comfortable with all that we needed. Lovely quiet location. Hope to return in the future.
A beautiful cottage, very clean and well equipped , everything good quality and a lovely garden, easy to find if you use the owners directions, lots to see and do nearby. Would highly recommend the cottage, also Sykes who we always use.

A wonderful place to relax. A super comfy and clean holiday let with everything you need for a comfy stay. Fresh eggs, milk and biscuits were greatly received and a lovely thought. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a quiet base to rest after visits out in Norfolk ideal base.

A Lovely clean cottage in a very quiet location, within easy reach of the many local attractions, just what the doctor ordered. Just don't rely on Google maps to get you there, follow the owners directions.
Very comfortable beds, well equipped cottage. Nice bathrooms. Pleasant outdoor area. Indoor living space a bit small. WiFi very poor, unfortunately. Having said that, we did enjoy our stay, thank you.
Could be better signposted as it was difficult to find went past it twice. Lovely cottage though and owner very helpful.

Found it difficult to find, the sat nav sent us to Norton Corner Post Office, we must have driven by several times, the house sign was well worn, the map directions given say from Holt but I went Holt, expecting to go straight there, but should have turned off at Thursford for Merton Constable, lots very narrow lanes, thankfully little traffic, the stay let, was scrupulously clean, surprisingly large well thought out and planned, every thing you could need two bathrooms with under floor heating and heated towel rail, plenty of room, ideal for people who don't like stairs, parking adjacent, very quiet location,
Very comfortable and quiet cottage right in the Norfolk countryside . Well equipped kitchen , good bathrooms and a lovely patio and small garden . A good base for exploring North Norfolk .
Richard
The cottage was faultless, beautifully clean and well maintained. Great location for exploring North Norfolk. I will recommend Moat Farm Cottage to family and friends and will certainly stay here again.

This is the second time weve stayed at Moat Farm cottage and we would very happily return again. The standard of the cottage is so high and makes a very comfortable stay. Such an array of kitchen accessories, crockery and cooking equipment which means theres no frustration finding a decent this or that when cooking for the family. Dishwasher and washer a real bonus too. We stayed as a family of two children, mum and dad and also a greataunt. The layout of the cottage meant we had the main bathroom and two bedrooms, and she could have privacy in the large master ensuite bedroom, all sharing the living, kitchen, dining and garden areas. If you want to experience real Norfolk in the heart of the countryside then Moat Farm Cottage is perfect. Country lanes, total peace and quiet and no light pollution which gives the best night skies. All in all fantastic!

Lovely cottage remote but so peaceful much better then the pictures new porch excellent idea so useful for wet boots pretty garden cottage had everything you could need it was spotlessly clean welcome pack nice surprise one of the best cottages we have rented One minor complaint a lot of the crockery was chipped but as there was so much this could be removed and there would still be enough for 6 people Would highly recommend

Always enjoys our stay at Moat Farm, clean, peaceful, and comfortable. Love it
Fantastic place
Wow, what a cottage! We had a fantastic stay despite the snow and ice. It really was so tucked away, quiet and wonderfully dark at night. The cottage was exceptionally well quipped, clean and very comfortable and perhaps the one thing it lacked, from a womans perspective, was a full length mirror somewhere. Parking just outside the cottage was ample for two cars which is a big plus I think. We will definitely be back and maybe at a different tiime of year but for a pre christmas break it really couldn't have been better....thank you so much Alex!
Moat Farm cottage was amazing! Everything we wanted and more! so well stocked, Alex, the owner was kind enough to leave, tea, coffee, eggs & milk. Quality furniture and linen, beautiful bath sheets, very comfy beds, excellent crockery and cutlery, very spacious, private and a total joy to stay there. absolutely spotlessly clean, plenty of easy parking, lovely seating area outside, well equipped kitchen with easy to use appliances, both bathrooms were spacious and luxurious, superb oak flooring throughout, we'll definitely be back! Location is excellent for discovering northmid Norfolk, Thank you for a lovely break in this gorgeous cottage, the photo's online do not do it justice!

Moat Cottage was a truly amazing place to spend the week. Set in the real heart of the Norfolk countryside, you couldnt have got a better rural experience. The Cottage had everything you could think of and way more! Cooking in the modern well resourced kitchen was a joy as there was literally everything you could need. Made a massive difference. Tons of glasses and crockery etc so you didnt need to constantly wash up. Having a washer and drier was another great addition, along with clothes maiden. Made a big difference to dry clothes after a wet seal boat trip! All the bedrooms were tastefully furnished and the beds all comfortable. Two amazing bathrooms with a shower I wanted to take home! Having a king size bed ensuite one side and two bedrooms and a bathroom the other made it perfect to share with a relative, having a bathroom each and own privacy. The garden and patio area made a location for early morning and evening drinks. Perfect location for the coast, Walsingham, Norwich and the usual visits before retreating back to the tranquility of the farm cottage. Most things within 20 minutes. Sandringham 50 minutes. I really could not fault this cottage and after turning the shock of the tiny country lanes to extra excitementit quickly became an idiotic setting for our weeks holiday. Would not hesitate staying again and hope to do so. Closest we could get as a family to how it would be like to live in a Norfolk village as our ancestors did but far more luxuriously than they did!. Thank you.
Teresa
Lovely cottage with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Well situated for lots of family friendly activities within 3045mins drive. If the hot weather persists an extra fan or 2 may be useful for the bedrooms.
Gillian
A very comfortable stay at your lovely cottage. You provided everything to make our stay easy and relaxing. Enjoyed the garden and we were very lucky with the weather so able to eat all our meals outside. Cleanliness excellent. Good location to visit National Trust properties, the seaside and enjoy country walks. Thank you for a lovely time in Norfolk.
The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Owner kindly supplied a ramp to help my disabled husband.
Lovely cottage clean comfortable and extremely well equipped we had a very ... Lovely cottage clean comfortable and extremely well equipped we had a very enjoyable stay our grandson loved the garden would highly recommend
Moat Farm Cottage is a quiet, peaceful place to stay with a lovely garden which is very safe for children. Inside it is very well equipped with comfortable furniture, beds and extremely clean bathrooms with constant hot water. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday even though sadly the weather was a little cold and wet. We would love to return in the future.
Excellent. Re arrival instructions. Bit tricky to find as it's not in Wood Dalling, nor on road described. It's on Norton Cross & would be much better described as such. Also Garden Centre has closed so not easy to spot. Property itself was excellent. We have never stayed anywhere with as much fully matching crockery and cutlery! It took me a while to realisethat the owner has added a porch since your photo. Very nice, totally recommended.
Ronald
A very comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage which I can recommend without hesitation.
Dominic
Lovely cottage, very clean, had everything we needed as a family of five and lots to do in the surrounding areas. The kids loved it.
Third time we have stayed here, always loved it, so warm and cosy and top quality. Absolute peace and tranquility
Returned yesterday from moat farm cottage 19th nov 2021 and I can honestly say it was wonderful. Clean, tidy, quiet, well situated for all the places we wanted to visit. The only thing I could say was a bit of a minus was the time we had to get out. 9am we feel is a tad to early. Not enough time to even have morning coffee and breakfast. We always thought it was in at 4pm and out by 10am....is this something that has changed since covid. It does seem extremely early. Other than that perfect in every way...thankyou. Xx
Wow!! The pictures do not do it justice !! This place is a cosey, clean and fabulous little cottage . Perfect for a family get away . Lovely little touches like milk , biscuits and fresh eggs made us feel so welcome. Fabulous info guide and the pizza from the Friday night bakery was amazing. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful cottage, impeccably clean and comfortable. Superb location, rural and quiet but within easy reach of lovely towns and villages via car. Really enjoyed the cottage and visiting Norfolk will visit again.
