The Old Rectory Thurlton Reviews

David
Some snagging issues on arrival but omg what a wonderful place to escape from reality . Tonnes of space and everything you need inc logs for the fire . Lovely walks , wildlife , local pub serves great food and nearby church is wonderfully peaceful
Chee
Very spacious beautiful period house set in a lovely informal garden with deer roaming in all directions. Internally in need of a deep clean and some key instructions on how to operate the heating system. More attention to detail would make this property fit for purpose.
Carolyn
House was lovely with ample of space with a gorgeous garden the children loved playing in. Great location, close to lots of things to do.
Jamie
My business partner and I wanted a week away from everything, business and also hectic family life, we loved it so much we will book this again next year, it was a great place for all of our family to meet at and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, I come from beccles, my business partner from Gorleston, to have both families over for a sunday BBQ was just great,, it meant we didn't have to travel day in day out to visit everyone, I highly recommend this if you want some piece and quite and family time.
Derek
Really good. Location and accommodation first rate.
Keith
Lovely comfortable house for 7 of us. More living rooms than needed! Ood bedroom / bathroom configuration. Interesting to see the rabbits and deer in the spacious garden. A little bit of a drive to any "stuff to do" but a good sociable house for spending time in the property.
David
We really enjoyed our weekend.
Sarah
Lovely cottage, perfect for our group of seven
Dawn
The house is lovely and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. There were 8 of us and we all had a great time. As in previous reviews it would be helpful if there was a mat by the door into the garden from the kitchen and a decent mop. The electric tripped when we pressed a light switch in the kitchen by the utility room and it was a bit of a mission using step ladders to get to the electric box, which was very high up. However, the problems we had were very small and didn't impact on our holiday. We tried the local pub for dinner one evening which was very good. We had such a lovely time at the Old Rectory we didn't want to leave.
Alex
The Old Rectory was the perfect location for a family get-together (nine of us, aged from 7 to 75). Plenty of outdoor space for the kids to safely explore and play in; the rickety treehouse was a big hit, as were the deer and rabbits! The piano in the dining room was a nice touch too. The house itself was very spacious and beautifully decorated, accurately represented by the photos, and well-stocked with all the equipment we needed for cooking etc. The house is on the edge of the village, set well back from the (quiet) road down a gravel drive behind the church, so was very peaceful. There's a small village shop and a nice pub within walking distance. The nearest supermarket is a 15-minute drive away. Really pleased we chose The Old Rectory. I'd imagine it would be an amazing and cosy place for a Christmas-time get-together too, with the Aga in the kitchen and fireplaces in the two living rooms.
Mark
We had a lovely time the house was a real home from home. Beautiful setting and gardens, perfect for two families sharing. We would highly recommend.
Janet
We loved the house it suited exactly what we required as a family
