Wee Retreat Reviews

Su
The location of this property is as amazing as you think it will be. A very short walk into town and perfect for sitting on the balcony people (and dog) watching. However, we found the patio doors difficult to move so bear this in mind when deciding whether to book. My elderly mother was unable to move the doors at all. On the final morning of our stay one of the patio doors came off it's fixings as I opened it. A situation which has the potential to be very dangerous. I'm concerned about whether the maintenance of the patio doors is adequate.
Jean
Fantastic location!!!
Melanie
Absolutely fabulous location, must be one of the best in Sheringham and we were glad we'd discounted some of the more negative reviews as we found the whole experience an absolute delight and we are hoping to be able to return
Kate
Beautifully designed place with stunning views and perfect location. Lovely decor ,Beds were comfortable and bedding / towels fresh and clean. Listening and watching the waves from your bed was just heavenly. There were some really nice touches like binoculars, books ,dvds and games. Very close proximity to some great shops, cafes and pubs in Sheringham. We really did have a wonderful week there.
Sally
This is a fabulous location. Great to fall asleep and wake to the noise of the sea. The property is really warm and well equipped, and close to lots of shops and food places to eat.
Gary
Great views and much needed relaxing week.
Robert
A comfortable lounge and bedrooms, more than adequate for 4 adults, the bathrooms are snug to say the least. I would be warry about taking children due to the open nature of the spiral stair cases to the up stairs and down stairs bedrooms and the stairs and remote location are certainly not suitable for the elderly or infirm. We enjoyed our stay, ideal location for visiting the surrounding area and Sheringham is a lovely seaside town with good pubs and restaurants.
David
A truly unique property with the most amazing 180 degree sea views.
Michael
If you love the sight and sound of the sea, the Wee Retreat is the property for you. It's a bit Tardis-like in that from the outside you'd not realise how much could be packed into such a small footprint and the owners have produced a little gem of a place. But there are points that should be noted: it is a wee place, so don't expect huge bathrooms; eating in for 4 wouldn't be especially sociable as there is no dining table and there isn't comfortable seating for 4. There was just the 2 of us so none of this mattered and we just enjoyed the sea and Sheringham. Oh, and there is quite a long, steep slope and steps to be negotiated for access from the roadway above - those with dodgy kneecaps might wish to know this!.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will visit again.
David
Great location and a unique building.
David
A great location, handy for the town, literally a 2 minute walk. The local restaurants are good but need booking 3 or 4 days in advance. Despite there being no on site parking there is lots of space at the top of the path.. The cate at the bottom of the steps does good coffee and crepes, ideal for breakfast.
Susan
A quirky property in a good location, with pleasant sea views. Not ideal for four people as only three comfortable chairs and only two available spaces at the breakfast bar. Welcome pack was just a pint of milk! A very cold property in certain weather conditions, with no access to heating controls. Downstairs shower room, very very small and unpleasant to use. Position of double bed in the upstairs bedroom not ideal, due to the apex beam. Lacks some basic kitchen equipment. The door to the ice making compartment in fridge is broken and held in place by a piece of cardboard.
Paul
This is a unique property with stunning views of Sheringham's beautiful beach. The property itself is lovely, has an interesting history and a fantastic location.
Simon
Great location, very relaxing, will be returning later in the year. No Wi-Fi installed in the property, and mobile signal very poor on all networks.
